Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson announced that they’ve officially become citizens of Greece.
Prime Minister Kryiakos Mitsotakis made the announcement on an Instagram post in which the couple posed with their passports.
“@ritawilson @tomhanks are now proud Greek citizens! Mitsotakis posted on his Instagram.
According to sources they’ve been trying to obtain Greek citizenship since 2019.
Greece’s President Prokopis Pavlopoulos reportedly signed an honorary naturalization order back in December of 2019 that allowed the couple to claim Greek citizenship.
