While hosting “Squawk on the Street” on CNBC on Tuesday, legendary finance host Jim Cramer appeared to accidentally call Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, “Crazy Nancy” to her face, a name that has been given to the Speaker by President Trump.
“What deal can we have, Crazy Nancy?” Cramer said. “I’m sorry, that was the president, I have such reverence for the office I would never use that term.”
Pelosi, who was clearly offended, replied, “But you just did, but you just did…”
“You know what I mean,” Cramer said. ” You know what I mean. The reverence I have for the office is so great.”
“Anything that the president says is a projection of his own insecurities,” Pelosi added. “He calls other people crazy because he knows he is.”
The Democrats lead by Pelosi are failing the American people as they continue to stall with a new coronavirus relief package.
Check out what CNBC reported:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday morning that she remains opposed to Republican efforts to pass a smaller version of her party’s coronavirus stimulus plan despite the looming 2020 election and economic fallout from the pandemic.
Asked by CNBC’s Jim Cramer if she’d be willing to pass a “skinny” deal now and reconvene with Republicans on outstanding issues later, Pelosi fired back that “there is no later with this administration.”
“This is the opportunity. And the skinny deal is a Republican bill: That’s not a deal at all,” Pelosi said on CNBC. “They’re making a skinny — in fact, Chuck Schumer and I call it an emaciated — proposal for a massive problem.”
But on Tuesday, a bipartisan group of lawmakers unveiled a new $1.5 trillion stimulus plan that included a second round of $1,200 checks and the reinstatement of federal unemployment benefits.
Before ending the interview, Cramer once again tried to make amends with Pelosi. “You know I was being facetious when I used the term involving you,” Cramer said.
“Of course I do,” Pelosi responded, with a smile.
