After more than three days the two parties could not agree on a stimulus package to hopefully help out our country to recover financially from the coronavirus pandemic.

As usual each party blamed the other party for the delays.  Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) ripped into Democrats this morning for their latest stimulus demands.  He said the Democrats had a “Democratic Wish List”, citing tax deductions to solar and wind energy companies, workplace provisions sought by organized labor and new emissions standards for the airlines.

“Are you kidding me?” McConnell demanded on the floor.  “Is this the moment to debate new regulations that have nothing to do with this crisis?  That’s what they are up to over there,” he said, motioning across the aisle.  “They (Democrats) won’t let us fund hospitals or save small business unless they get to dust off the Green New Deal,” McConnell added, referring to sweeping liberal proposal to address global climate change.

Speaking right after McConnell, Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (D_NY) accused the GOP leader of being by partisan and predicted a deal could yet be reached on Monday.

Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), stated a few minutes later that the only answer from my Democratic colleagues is “delay, delay, delay.”
This is ongoing and hopefully they will all get back together and pass a stimulus package and get some help on the way to our American people and American businesses across this great country.  Let’s pray it is today as time is of essence.
