Urban Outfitters Closes All Stores Worldwide Until March 28th

Urban Outfitters is closing all of its stores globally because of the coronavirus, the company announced Saturday.

Stores in the company’s portfolio include Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, Terrain and Nuuly brands. Stores “will not reopen until at least March 28,” the company said in a news release. The company has about 600 stores.

“The global spread of COVID-19 is affecting every one of us,” the company said in its statement. “The safety and health of our communities, including our loyal customers and dedicated associates, is always of the utmost importance to us.”

Store employees will continue to be paid and the company’s e-commerce and subscription business will continue to operate. Corporate employees will work remotely.
