According to Brad Edwards of CBS Chicago, Jussie Smollett’s and his representatives are on the verge of hiring one of the most high profile defense lawyers in America.
According to sources Smollett’s team may be lawyering up, WAY UP! According to Edwards, Smollett’s team is in contact with famed LA Defense attorney Mark Geragos.
Geragos has represented the likes of Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and Scott Peterson to name a few.
It’s not a done deal, but CBS Chicago says the deal is close to being finalized.
Another new development in the case is that Chicago police now have a tip that Smollett was in his elevator at his apartment with both of the Nigerian brothers before the attack.
If that’s not enough, the Nigerian brothers were spotted on a ride-share surveillance camera in route to the attack and they “appeared nervous” according to police sources.
The video also shows the brothers show up first, and Smollett arrived late for the “attack.”
This story just continues to unfold and keeps getting worse and worse for Smollett.
