According to CBS Chicago, a Cook County judge has ruled that a special prosecutor should be appointed in the Jussie Smollett case.
As you know, Kim Foxx the Cook County State’s Attorney recused herself and handed it off to her top deputy prosecutor. According to the judge she had no reason nor authority to do that.
If that wasn’t enough, then they tried to seal the Smollett records, and let him off with nothing more than a $10,000 fine.
Here is the report from CBS Chicago.
CHICAGO (CBS) — A Cook County judge has ruled a special prosecutor should be appointed to investigate the Jussie Smollett case, saying Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx had no authority to hand it off to her top deputy after announcing she recused herself.
It’s not a good day to be Jussie Smollett.
