Alexander Amador wanted for Capital Murder by the US Marshals has been captured.
Alexander Amador was wanted in connection with a murder in Springdale last month. Joseph Soto, age 23, was found dying in a driveway off Newell early the morning of January 30.
Amador was found after a citizen called in a tip Wednesday morning.
The citizen was approached by a man who asked to use his phone. He noticed the man matched Amador’s description and called the police.
Amador was then arrested by Fort Smith Police without incident.
U.S. Marshal Public Information Officer, Sean Coyne, said they were assisting Springdale Police in locating Alexander Amador on Tuesday, February 11.
Officials pinpointed Amador’s location in Fort Smith and found him inside a car with a woman driver. Coyne said the woman drove away from marshals, and a brief chase ensued. During the chase, Amador fired out of the back windshield.
The pursuit ended in a crash on Towson Ave. and N 11th Street.
Amador fled the area, but the driver was taken into custody. Her name has not been released.
