Trump Calls For Reopening Of Cold Case Involving Former Intern Of Joe Scarborough

The president took to Twitter on Monday and took aim at Scarborough over an old conspiracy theory about the death of one of his congressional interns.

“‘Concast’ should open up a long-overdue Florida Cold Case against Psycho Joe Scarborough. I know him and Crazy Mika well, used them beautifully in the last Election, dumped them nicely, and will state on the record that he is ‘nuts’. Besides, bad ratings! #OPENJOECOLDCASE,” Trump wrote.

Trump was referring to the death of Scarborough’s former Florida staffer, Lori Klausutis, who died at 28 due to an apparent head injury.

In July 2001, when Scarborough served as a Republican congressman representing Florida, Klausutis was found dead in his office.

As noted by Gawker:

A 28-year-old office worker for U.S. Rep. Joe Scarborough was found dead Friday in the congressman’s district office.

Preliminary findings from the medical examiner’s office showed no foul play or any outward indication of suicide, said Police Chief Steve Hogue.

Authorities identified the woman as Lori Klausutis of Niceville. She had worked for Scarborough since May 1999, said Mick Serrano, press secretary for the congressman.

Klausutis reportedly told a co-worker that she was not feeling well. Then, she  lost consciousness due to an abnormal heart rhythm and allegedly became ill while in Scarborough’s office, fell down, and hit her head on the desk.

Her death was ruled an accident.

The DC Patriot has the full police and autopsy report and will be working on this investigation going forward. We’re one of a handful of groups in the nation that possess these documents.
