THOUGHT POLICE: YouTube Updates Community Guidelines To Weed Out Videos They Deem “Could Misinform Users”

On Friday, video streaming platform YouTube released a statement on the site’s Official YouTube Blog in which they explain they’re cracking down on recommended videos that automatically appear after users watch specific videos or search for videos they deem conspiratorial-esque in nature.

YouTube is targeting videos that question the Mainstream Media’s reporting on current events, historic events, and scientific dogmatic subjects. For example, theories about what REALLY happened on 9/11, commentary and questioning the official report released on Sandy Hook, or those who create videos challenging whether or not the Earth is round or flat. These subjects are only three out of thousands of topics that could be considered “conspiracy theories,” simply because people question what they’ve been told by MSM or taught as fact in school.

The majority of videos that fit into YouTube’s definition of “conspiratorial” are either investigative in nature or at the least, invite different views to be openly debated on controversial subjects that challenge the narrative being pushed by different forms of media and in academia.

If 2017 was the year of #FakeNews, 2018 was the year of misinformation. Over the past two years, social media sites and video streaming outlets have amped up their implementation of new “guidelines” where they act as thought police, deleting, demonetizing videos, censoring, suspending, or permanently banning users and content creators for expressing their views and sharing information that THEY don’t agree with. Essentially, Orwell’s 1984.

These platforms, having full control of the content they allow on their site, must set public guidelines but that doesn’t mean thoughts and ideas expressed by users will be treated fairly across the board when their content is reviewed by bots or “human evaluators”. Those of us who’ve been paying attention know how those right of center are being targeted and extinguished from liberally owned social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, taking away the user’s ability to reach their audience and silencing some of the most influential conservative voices in politics today. YouTube is no exception.

So, what does YouTube’s new Community Guidelines update mean for viewers? YouTube is now reducing recommendations that “COULD misinform users in harmful ways,” and will be looking at “borderline content” that doesn’t EXACTLY violate their terms of service, but is close enough to keep those videos off of any recommendation algorithm. Essentially, “ghosting” certain content where anything YouTube deems potentially “harmful” will be banished forever to the internet ghetto, never to be recommended again to users as content they may also enjoy, related to their previous searches and viewing history.

” We’ll continue that work this year, including taking a closer look at how we can reduce the spread of content that comes close to—but doesn’t quite cross the line of—violating our Community Guidelines. To that end, we’ll begin reducing recommendations of borderline content and content that could misinform users in harmful ways—such as videos promoting a phony miracle cure for a serious illness, claiming the earth is flat, or making blatantly false claims about historic events like 9/11. “

The YouTube statement goes on to explain that though this “gradual change,” (which appears to have been in place for several weeks now – they just haven’t announced the change publicly) will affect a very minute “set of videos” in the United States, but they will soon be expanding the update to other countries.

“While this shift will apply to less than one percent of the content on YouTube, we believe that limiting the recommendation of these types of videos will mean a better experience for the YouTube community,” the post said.

Liberally owned sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube have joined propaganda-pushing sites CNN, MSNBC, and the likes (armed with their talking points that the Mockingbird Media regurgitates) in controlling the information the public receives.

In 2019, if you question the MSM narrative, you’re considered a conspiracy theorist and someone who needs to be silenced – because FREE THOUGHT is DANGEROUS!! It’s only dangerous if you’re trying to control information and suppress the TRUTH. If you don’t buy into their manufactured propaganda, you are someone not worthy of expressing your own thoughts and opinions on any public platform. Where does this end??
