Facebook is making plans to put a new emphasis on private communications CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated. The company is reeling today after a massive loss in U.S. members.
This news comes off an Edison Research report that shows the company lost an estimated 15 Million users in the United States that left the platform over the past year.
The company has been embattled in a censorship of conservative influencers and accounts across the board. They banned controversial conservative talk show host Alex Jones, along with others that they didn’t agree with.
The group Diamond and Silk, big President Trump supporters have made claims multiple times that Facebook is in fact limiting their audience and their reach on purpose. The evidence was so compelling that it was even asked about to Zuckerberg in congressional hearings.
Zuckerberg made a blog post and said that over the last few years he’s been very focused on addressing his companies challenges, those included major data breaches and of course “fake news.”
And, in conclusion, his new vision for the company’s future will be built around “a privacy-focused messaging and social networking platform.”
“There’s a lot to do here, and we’re committed to working openly and consulting with experts across society as we develop this,” Zuckerberg wrote.
