PBS Kids’ ‘Arthur’ Features Same-Sex Marriage in Season Premier (VIDEO)

One of the longest running animation shows for children on television on public funded PBS aired its season premier on Monday.

Some audiences were shocked when the show featured a same sex marriage.

The episode featured the Aardvark’s teacher Mr. Ratburn getting married to another male.

In the show it features the teacher and his husband Patrick walking down the aisle. Arthur is shown at the reception saying he cannot believe that Mr. Ratburn is married.

“Yep, it’s a brand new world,” says Arthur’s friend Francine in the episode entitled “Mr. Ratburn and the Special Someone.”

According to our research, this isn’t the first time the show has featured a same-sex marriage. The spin-off show called “Postcards with Buster” aired in 2005 and featured a lesbian couple, according to a report by NBC News.

This is DISGUSTING!! If I had a child there is NO WAY that child would be watching PBS anymore!

I am so disappointed that the writers have chosen this path for such a lovely program as “Arthur.” This is a very mature subject that should be handled by parents, not by a TV program. I’m sorry to say my grandchildren and their friends will not be watching any longer and many of us grandparents and parents will be contacting your sponsors.
