Ohio Police Department DOUBLES DOWN Says Officer Within Rights to Tase Woman Over Not Wearing Mask at Football Game

The Ohio Police Department in Logan, Ohio is doubling down and saying that it’s officer was within the right to use a taser on a football mom for not wearing a mask. The video was shocking, and now they are trying to justify it.

It’s notable in the press release that they claim she wasn’t tased for not wearing a mask, but for refusing to leave. The video is below, she was also social distanced with her own family/friends and only 30 people in the stands at the entire game. This story just gets more and more absurd America.

PRESS RELEASE from Logan, Ohio Police Department

On September 23rd at approximately 5:30 P.M. School Resource Officer Chris Smith was working a special duty detail at the Logan High School Stadium for the 7th and 8th grade football games. The special duty assignment was requested by the Logan Hocking School District to help ensure the safety of the fans and athletes during their inside and outside sporting events.

One of the duties of the assignment is to ensure fans and are complying with CDC, Ohio Health Department, Ohio Athletic Association and Logan Hocking School District policy rules and guidelines. One of these policy guidelines mandated by the Logan Hocking School District is that all spectators must wear a mask while on school property.

Officer Smith was walking in the stadium and observed a female sitting in the stands without a mask, he approached the female and advised her she needed to put her mask on as required by the school policy.

The female advised that she had asthma and was not going to put it on. Officer Smith advised the female several times that she needed to put her mask on, and that if she did not, she would be asked to leave and would have wait outside the stadium.

The female continually refused his request and Officer Smith advised her that if she refused to leave, she would be cited for trespassing and escorted off the property. After several attempts to get her to leave, Officer Smith advised her she was under arrest for criminal trespassing and asked her to place her hands behind her back multiple times and she refused.

Officer Smith attempted to place her hand behind her back, the female began resisting by pulling away from the Officer and another female began interfering with the arrest. Officer Smith advised her to comply or he would deploy his Taser if she did not quit resisting. She continued to resist, and Officer Smith placed his Taser on her shoulder area and drive stunned her once.

He was able to successfully handcuff the female at that time. An additional officer arrived and assisted in walking the female out of the stadium. She continued to try to pull away from the officers while being escorted out of the stadium and had to be placed into the cruiser. The female initially refused to identify herself. Hocking County Emergency Medical Services was requested and responded to the scene. The female refused treatment.

The female was later identified as Alicia D. Kitts. She was charged with Criminal Trespassing and released at the scene. Additional charges are pending on Mrs. Kitts and another female subject involved in the incident. It is important to note, the female was not arrested for failing to wear a mask, she was asked to leave the premises for continually violating school policy.

Once she refused to leave the premises, she was advised she was under arrest for criminal trespassing, she resisted the arrest, which led to the use of force.

This is an unfortunate incident for everyone involved. The incident remains under investigation

Hypoxia is real and people can be triggered by the masks. Look around you, those folks who instinctively pull the mask below their nose are quite likely to be feeling CO2 buildup or hypoxia behind the mask. Anyone who has problems wearing a mask should get a full pulmonary check up, but you can’t do that with a “televisit” so it’s hard to schedule. OSHA used to require all people who were required to wear a mask on the job to have a pulmonary function evaluation.

This is wrong. Police are tasked to enforce laws and protect the public, not behave like bouncers in a night club. This whole thing stinks. Criminal trespass is a prosecutable offense that carries criminal civil penalties. If she was legitimately under arrest, why didn’t the resource officer inform her of her Miranda rights? Why didn’t he call for back up prior to applying force and deploying non-lethal resources? She wasn’t going anywhere. Police usually don’t let criminal trespassers go after they’re arrested without a mugshot and arraignment. “Criminal Trespasser” sounds better to the public than “Non-Compliant Sheep”, or “Non-Masker”, doesn’t… Read more »

This is totally wrong and hope she sues the hell out of them. She needs to demand public apology from these officers and sue them individually!!! I would also like an apology from the police dept, just so they learn that a mandate is not a law!!!

I guess I’m just a little confused. If there are policies for schools or businesses or public buildings and people refuse to follow those policies what is the recourse. If you don’t like a rule I guess we’re saying you can just break it because you don’t like it. She was asked to leave if she wasn’t going to follow the policies and she refused. What were they supposed to do when everyone sees that the rules don’t apply and everyone breaks the rules. I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with what happened I’m just confused as to what the recourse… Read more »

The stripper totally got what she deserved. She was risking the health of all the other people at the game. Ideally she will go to jail, and catch the trump virus there. The cop was very patient with her. Most cops would have punched her in the face to subdue her. trump is going to prison next year.

Also, this stripper has a long criminal record of petty theft and drug abuse. She was arrested because she refused to leave the game. Her choice.
