MUST SEE: Former Cop Describes Why Georgia Police Shooting Was 100% Justified (VIDEO)

Before anyone at city hall in Atlanta had a full understanding of what led to a white police officer to use deadly force against a black man on Friday, the cop was fired and his partner suspended.

The immediate effect was likely one of bewilderment among rank-and-file officers who knew the canned cops; the long-term effect will be to widen the trust gap between officers on the street and the Left-wing politicos who run their departments, leaving more police to take fewer chances and shirk duties in order to stay out of situations where they know their commanders will throw them under a bus.

And make communities less safe in the process.

One former police officer, Brandon Tatum, knows all of this. He also knows that, after seeing video of the Atlanta officers and their interaction with 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks, the cops were completely justified in the way they acted.

You can watch the interaction here, via bodycam (**Warning: Graphic)

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, authorities on Friday responded to a complaint of a male in a vehicle “parked in the drive thru asleep, causing other customers to drive around the vehicle.” Officers administered a field sobriety test, which Brooks failed. After that, officers – who remained calm throughout up to this point – tried to take Brooks into custody, but he “resisted and a struggle ensued,” causing an officer to deploy a taser, which the male subject “grabbed and was in possession of.”

“It has also been reported that the male subject was shot by an officer in the struggle over the Taser,” GBI’s statement noted further.

The agency provided an additional update on Saturday which affirmed “new videos” that “indicate that during a physical struggle with officers, Brooks obtained one of the officer’s Tasers and began to flee from the scene.”

“Officers pursued Brooks on foot and during the chase, Brooks turned and pointed the taser at the officer. The officer fired his weapon, striking Brooks,” GBI said.

Tatum, in a video, walks viewers through what happened, showing video clips of the incident taken by a bystander and by surveillance video (the above bodycam video shows the entire interaction between the officers and Brooks before the fight ensued).

Tatum notes that at one point, one of the officers had his taser taken away from him by Brooks as he fought his way through being handcuffing, punching one of the officers.

As Brooks ran with officers in pursue, he turned around and fired the taser at the officer.

“Why, Brandon, would an officer use deadly force against a person who only had a taser?” Tatum asked rhetorically. “Well, because, if you taze the police officer, you can lock his body up and he will be rendered incapable of defending himself.

“So if an officer is rendered incapable of defending himself, if he has a natural fear of physical bodily injury…and, or, death” as a result of a suspect’s actions, “the officer can use deadly force.”
