Little Rock FBI Warns Schools of Unsubstantial Threat

Scary news on Sunday coming out of the Little Rock FBI field

“The Little Rock FBI office issued a general awareness statement regarding an unsubstantiated rumor. They received a report that a school shooting would occur in Arkansas on 8/29/19. The threat is not specific to any school in Arkansas.

The following is from 40/29 TV in Northwest Arkansas:

The Prairie Grove School District said they “will continue to monitor the provided information and work closely with Prairie Grove Police Department and other law enforcement agencies to take appropriate security measures.”

Captain Jeff O’Brien with the Prairie Grove Police Department said the threat is unsubstantiated, but their department always takes safety seriously. He said the two school resources officers will be at school as normal, and they will always be prepared in case of an emergency.

The Bentonville school district sent a similar message to parents that they are working closely with law enforcement on “unsubstantiated threats.” Alan Wilbourn with Fayetteville schools said they are always working closely with police.

This is a developing story.
