This is a bizarre story coming out of the Liberty University camp and family over the last few days.

Jerry Falwell Jr. has agreed to take an indefinite leave of absence from his role as president and chancellor of Liberty University, the school announced Friday.

The private university issued a one-sentence statement making the announcement. The statement said the Executive Committee of Liberty’s board of trustees, acting on behalf of the full Board, met Friday and requested that Falwell take leave, “to which he has agreed, effective immediately.”

The college’s statement did not mention a reason for the board’s request. But the announcement comes at the end of a week in which Falwell has faced unprecedented public pressure to resign from prominent associates of the college. Last weekend, Falwell Jr. posted a photograph to his Instagram account in which he posed with his arm around a pregnant woman with a bare midriff at a private party on a yacht. The college president’s shirt is pulled up and his pants are unbuttoned, revealing a triangle of underwear. He’s holding a glass of what appears to be an alcoholic beverage, though he referred to it in the caption as “black water.”

Trailer Park Boys is a raunchy and crass Canadian mockumentary TV Show that aired 106 episodes across 12 seasons. The theatrical film for the shows actors, Swearnet, set a world record for the most F-words in a feature film, totaling 935. The uncensored show has an 18+ rating in most countries and is known for the copious amounts of sex and, drug use, and cursing. At least three episodes have plotlines involving making homemade pornography.

The university’s statement did not indicate what prompted the request by the trustees.

I’ll say this much, as Christian’s we are imperfect. The fact that every time a Christian screws up, instead of loving them, showing them grace, and trying to help them get back on the right path, we move to cancel culture just like the left. I personally find that pathetic.

People are allowed to have lives and not have to explain themselves. That’s what the Democrats do at least, not Conservatives or Christians.

What are your thoughts on the pics and what happened with Jerry Falwell Jr?

  1. I agree with the final statement. We, as Christians, need to stop with the judgments. He’s a human being. He made a mistake—in posting in on instagram–I don’t know what the context of the photo was, so I’m not going to judge why the picture was taken. We’re as bad as the left who burn the Bible. We need to take a moment to draw in the sand before judging and throwing stones at others.

  2. It looks like they had too much dinner and couldn’t get the tops of their pants buttoned. A lot of people seem to always have their minds in the gutter.

  3. We served ‘sparkling’ grape juice for the Bride & Groom Toast at our Daughters’ wedding more than 20 years ago and were criticized for it. Innocent or not, the Lord knows how the world judges ‘Christians’ and for this reason warned us to ‘Abstain from All Appearance of Evil’.

  5. Mr Falwell tends to speak openly and often times without a filter. That isn’t’ a crime. At times however due to the nature of his career he should probably keep his comments off social media platforms. That being said, the family was having a party, the female in the picture is pregnant and well known to them, Jerrry posted a male version of the picture. Was it in bad taste? probably. Should the picture have stayed private among the party goers and family? Yes. But there is a definite distinction in this country to what we accept from conservative Christians and what we accept from the left. NO one can deny that. Griffin posted a photo of a severed head of our president, which would have cost a conservative jail time, nothing happens. WE have Chrissy Teigan twitter posts pediphilic in nature. I could go on and on with poor taste posts from the left which result in no issues. I think Jerry made a bad decision reflecting poorly on the University. However I thing that it would have been overlooked and dismissed had it happened to the opposing side of Christianity.

  6. We are told to shun the appearance of evil. Leaders in the church are held to a higher standard than others. I don’t know if there was a statement of repentance made. We are all sinners and if a person repents, we are to forgive them. Period. However, repentance is not only a statement or confession but also requires a turning away from doing whatever sin it involved. A leader who has been involved in a scandal/sin, as David did, gives occasion for non-believers to blaspheme the name of the LORD. That person, though forgiven, should Not hold a position of authority in the church again. Period. Someone may say that David continued as king, and he did, but a leader in God’s church is not a king. As the Bible tells us, a leader in the church is servant to all and must be above reproach.

  7. A perfect imitation of Christ. Well, okay… maybe just a little bit.
