KAYLEIGH MCENANY TO BE NEW WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY

A formal announcement is expected later today that Kayleig McEnany will be the new White House Press Secretary, two sources confirmed on Tuesday.

McEnany, 31, has long been a fierce defender of the president in television interviews and through the campaign.  She often appeared at Trump rallies and participating in events for the Women for Trump coalition.

McEnany will be the fourth press secretary of the Trump administration as she replaces Stephanie Grisham who followed Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Sean Spicer.

This appears to be part of a broader overhaul of the White House press under new chief of staff Mark Meadows.

The press secretary role has been difficult as Trump has long been viewed as his own spokesman.  And his leadership of the coronavirus task force briefings on a daily basis seems to have diminished the role during this pandemic.
