A good guy with a gun may have stopped a mass shooting attempt in Springfield, Missouri late Thursday afternoon.
A 20-year-old man with a rifle and other gear was taken into custody at a Walmart in Missouri, Springfield news outlets reported.
Police said the individual had more than 100 rounds of ammunition, news outlets reported.
An off-duty firefighter held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived, according to news outlets.
Springfield police Lt. Mike Lucas said they’re still working to determine whether the man intended to shoot anyone, the Springfield News-Leader reported.
Police said the individual was arrested at the store at 3150 W. Republic Road. Authorities said they don’t believe there’s a threat to the public at this time.
