In one of the most emotional and heated pleas you’ll ever see, Actor & Comedian Jon Stewart unloaded on members of Congress for not supporting the First Responders of 9/11.
“Accountability doesn’t appear to be something that occurs in this chamber…I’m sorry if I sound angry and undiplomatic, but I am angry, and you should be too.”
“I am awfully tired of hearing that it’s a 9/11 New York issue. Al-Qaeda didn’t shout ‘Death to Tribeca.’ They attacked America.”
“They responded [to 9/11 attacks] in 5 seconds. They did their jobs, with courage, grace, tenacity, humility … 18 years later, do yours!”
The fact that our nation’s congress has failed to support these amazing heroes is not only a disgrace, but it’s sickening. It’s just one more reason that the Swamp needs drained of career politicians.
“Why this bill isn’t unanimous consent and a stand-alone issue, is beyond my comprehension. And I’ve yet to hear a reasonable explanation as to why.”
Kudos to Jon Stewart for standing up for these brave men and women. Someone has to.
