Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has faced fierce backlash since Fox News aired surveillance footage showing her walking through a Salon in San Francisco’s ritzy Marinara district on Monday without wearing a face mask after getting her hair done. Although, indoor beauty services are outlawed in the city because of the pandemic.
Pelosi went to the salon on Monday for a blow-out, Fox News reported on Tuesday. Salon owner Erica Kious told Fox News that Pelosi’s assistant had set up the appointment with an independent stylist who rents chairs in her salon. Klous also said, that Pelosi visiting, “was a slap in the face, to struggling business owners who can’t work.”
San Francisco salons were closed for months as part of Mayor London Breed’s emergency coronavirus regulations. They were allowed to reopen for outdoor service on Tuesday.
“It was clearly a setup. I take responsibility for falling for a setup by a neighborhood salon that I’ve gone to for years. And that’s, that’s really what it is,” Pelosi told reporters at an event in San Francisco. She added: “I think that this salon owes me an apology, for setting me up.”
Pelosi noted that the appointment was made ahead of time, and said the stylist could have and should have said they were not open
“The Beauty Parlor owner must really dislike Crazy Nancy Pelosi. Turning her in, on tape, is a really big deal. She probably treats him like she treats everyone else,” President Trump tweeted.
