The CBS was worried about ratings for this years Super Bowl amid the fact that many conservatives have not been happy with the NFL’s stance on kneeling during the National Anthem.
TV stopped airing the National Anthem, and in fact it somewhat stopped for the majority of the 2018 Football Season. But wait, there’s more!
There is good news for CBS and their airing of the Super Bowl LIII this year. Rather than boycott the game (which some may have thought the President Trump would do) the Commander-in-Chief is actually going to give the network a HUGE BOOST in ratings.
Yes, folks, Trump has agreed to sit down for an interview.
The interview, according to CBS, will be recorded Friday and part of it will be shown during “Face the Nation.” The rest will be shown during CBS’s pregame coverage, at around 3:30 p.m. Eastern time on Super Bowl Sunday.
Last year’s Super Bowl (on NBC) averaged 103.4 million viewers, the lowest average audience since 2009. Based on improved ratings this season, we can expect the audience for Super Bowl LIII to improve but fall short of the record (114.4 million viewers, set in 2015).
Well, now we have something to look forward to besides the commercials.
I expect record ratings folks… Lets see how big we can make this story.. Great work Matt!
