Things continue to go from bad to worse for Democrats in their efforts to remove President Donald Trump from office.
After Republicans blocked a measure from Democrats to call witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell revealed that the final vote to acquit the president will take place on Wednesday.
As the impeachment circus appears to be days away from ending, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham has revealed that Republicans already have 3 investigation “being prepared” into the Bidens, Democrats, and Ukraine.
Graham said his committee plans to call the whistleblower whose complaint against Trump over his July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president kicked off the impeachment witch hunt.
“The Senate Intel Committee under Richard Burr has told us that they will call the whistleblower,” Graham said.
“I want to understand how all this crap started,” he added.
The complaint was submitted by a CIA analyst whose identity has never been publicly confirmed.
The whistleblower has close and troubling ties to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and members of his staff, and Graham wants to know about it.
“If the whistleblower is a former employee of — associate of Joe Biden, I think that would be important. If the whistleblower was working with people on Schiff’s staff that wanted to take Trump down a year-and-a-half ago, I think that would be important. If the Schiff staff people helped write the complaint, that would be important. We’re going to get to the bottom of all of this to make sure this never happens again,” Graham said.
