GOP Senators Give Update In Hunter Biden Corruption Probe

According to The Federalist, Republican Senators on the Senate Homeland Security Committee have expanded their investigation into allegations of corruption against the Biden family. Recently, ranking Republican member Ron Johnson illustrated his plans to continue with a subpoena for a consultant linked to Hunter Biden and the Ukrainian gas company, Burisma Holdings.

The subpoena, meant for Blue Star consultant Andrii Telezhinko, is intended to shed further light on what exactly Hunter Biden was doing for the energy company while his father worked on matters in Ukraine for the Obama administration.

Critics argue that Hunter Biden was placed on the board of directors to be paid upwards of $80,000 a month and protect the company from corruption probes with the help of his father’s political influence as Vice President.

Ron Johnson initially planned to issue the first subpoena against the consultant last week, however, he said the committee found contradictory information in their briefings, leading to a delay.

“There were discrepancies in what had been told in one briefing versus the next briefing, and then even greater discrepancies in staff notes,” said Johnson.

Now, individuals at Blue Star Strategies are the center of the probe, and Ron Johnson hopes to bring out the two founders Karen Tramontano and Sally Painter, for more information. These consultants are closely linked to Burisma, and Hunter Biden reportedly connected Blue Star Strategies with Burisma in 2015 in order to fight corruption charges.

As a result of this, Chairman Johnson says he will continue with the next move in the investigation, and try to determine whether or not individuals at Blue Star and Burisma Holdings took advantage of individuals within the Obama administration for more influence on other government agencies.

“This subpoena is in furtherance of the committee’s ongoing work to address the many unanswered questions about potential conflicts of interest and the extent to which representatives of Burisma – including officials at Blue Star – used individuals with close personal connections to high-level officials within the Obama administration to gain access to and potentially influence U.S. government agencies,” he said.
