A masked man with a gun opened fire at a McDonald’s in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday night. However it didn’t last long as the father fired back. Both Men were wounded, with the gunman later dying. The father had non life threatening injuries, and saved a mass shooting at the local McDonald’s restaurant.
“I’m feeling grateful,” Markus Washington, an employee at this McDonald’s told WBRC-TV. “Wrapping my head around it all, I was just wishing someone would come wake me up from this nightmare.”
Accoridng to WVTM-13, Birmingham police spokesman Sgt. Bryan Shelton stated:
Things like this are difficult for both families. The gentleman who unfortunately lost his life, the teenage boy who is in the hospital recovering from his injuries and the father who is also recovering from his injuries. It’s not easy being a father and watching your child get injured, get hurt like that. It’s a really heart-wrenching experience.
