The United States Senate on Friday evening voted 51 to 49 to have no more witnesses in the Democrats impeachment sham trial.
The same Democrats who said their evidence was “overwhelming” soon turned to screaming and crying. “We must have witnesses,” Impeachment Manager Jerry Nadler screamed at the podium.
Yes, that’s right. The evidence is so overwhelming that they must have more evidence and more witnesses? Keep in mind that during Adam Schiff’s House impeachment sham, they had 18 witnesses. 17 that America has heard from, and one that we haven’t. Because that witness didn’t fit the Democrat agenda.
Two Republicans — Utah Sen. Mitt Romney and Maine Sen. Susan Collins — voted with Democrats for new witnesses.
“Senators will now confer among ourselves, with the House managers, and with the president’s counsel to determine next steps as we prepare to conclude the trial in the coming days,” Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said in a statement after the vote on witnesses.
Democrats decried the failure of the vote for witnesses.
“America will remember this day, unfortunately, where the Senate did not live up to its responsibilities, where the Senate turned away from truth and went along with a sham trial,” said Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
