New details in the Jussie Smollett case have been recovered by Rob Elgas with ABC7 Chicago. ABC had filed a FOIA, and received the police report they requested on Monday. Details have emerged from the initial report that provide more questions as it relates to what happened on the morning of January 29th.
In the report, several sections are redacted. While many of the blanks can be filled in, many are unknown. Some of the key facts are as follows.
“[Redacted] met r/o’s (responding officers) in lobby of building and escorted r/o’s to unit of victim. He related to r/o’s that victim did not want to report offense, however he believed it to be in the best interest to.”
Jussie Smollett was apprehensive of reporting the attack. Let that sink in. An individual who was just berated and beaten in a hate crime,
blocks from his apartment, didn’t want to report the incident to the police.
“The primary aggressor was wearing a black mask concealing any facial features, and both offenders were dressed in black, proceeding to batter the victim about the face with their hands and pouring an unknown chemical substance on to him staining his clothing. The victim does not remember any other distinguishing features of the offenders, or in which direction they fled.”
At this point, nobody (not even Smollett) knows what race these individuals happened to be. It is purely speculation that these people would be white based on the accusations of what was said to him.
The initial report does have the allegations that “two unknown males approched him and gained his attention by saying ver batim ’empire [redacted] [redacted].'” Which is safe to say that is along the lines of the reports of “empire f****t n*****.”
This part was reported rather quickly. Smollett and his manager have remained consistent on this allegation.
Another interesting tidbit deals with the rope. The rope was white, but next to “used as a weapon?” was “no.”

So the rope was recovered but the police have not the rope it as a weapon, which doesn’t add up if it was wrapped around his neck.
