During a campaign event in South Carolina on Monday, former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden seemed to forget that he was running for President when he stated that he was running for the Senate.
“I’m here to ask you for your help where I come from you don’t get far unless you ask. My name’s Joe Biden: I’m a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate. Look me over, if you like what you see help out, if not vote for the other Biden, give me a look tho okay?” he said while slurring his words.
Biden appeared to confuse himself considering he was encouraging the audience to focus on the Senate races as well.
“I’ve been saying for a long time it’s not enough to beat Donald Trump: we have to keep the House of Representatives, we have to win back the Senate,” Biden said while predicting that Republican Senator Lindsey Graham “will be a former senator. Oh, Bless me father, for I have sinned.”
Biden continued by dismissing the narrative that he is just trying “to be [former President] Barack Obama’s third term.”
“I was incredibly proud to serve with Barack Obama, incredibly proud to be his friend and I’m credibly proud to have had his back the entire time but this is more than just about going back this is about moving forward we have an opportunity to change this country,” he said.
