Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is a gaffe machine. It seems like he can’t deliver a coherent sentence that isn’t either packed with lies or it’s jumbled up so badly that no one understands what he is even talking about.
But the former vice president recently managed to tell a lie so outrageous that even left-wing MSNBC — certainly not an outlet friendly to conservatives — called him out for it.
Biden appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” over the weekend and it didn’t take long for Joe to tell a whopper of a lie.
Biden began by trying to claim if he were president, his administration would be better suited and prepared to handle a public health crisis like the coronavirus.
In an attempt to go after President Donald Trump, Biden erroneously claimed that the virus had killed more than 600,000 Americans.
“Over 600,000 dead, many of them are people who are those workers, those nurses, doctors, some of them,” Biden said. “Because they have put themselves in the position to save other people’s lives, protect the rest of society.”
Host Joe Scarborough quickly jumped in to indicate that Biden was off — by a lot.
“And we talk about that number, like 600-plus thousand people. If each and every one of them,” the candidate continued, interrupted by Scarborough.
“Sixty,” the host corrected. “Sixty thousand.”
“Si– Six– sixty thousand,” Biden stuttered while eventually correcting himself. “I misp… 60,000.”
According to Politico, data from hospitals across the country indicated the U.S. toll had surpassed 60,000..
“We’re on the other side of the medical aspect of this, and I think we’ve achieved all the different milestones that are needed, so the federal government rose to the challenge and this is a great success story,” White House senior adviser Jared Kushner said last week. “And I think that that’s what really needs to be told.”
