Instead of flat out denying the bombshell allegations against former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden with evidence, the Biden campaign is now claiming that the damning New York Post story must be false because Twitter is censoring it.
On Wednesday, the New York Post outlined how Biden allegedly met with a top executive at Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings in 2015. The meeting was set up by Hunter Biden. The report claims that an Apple MacBook Pro that belonged to Hunter Biden was turned over to the FBI in December by a computer repair shop owner.
During an interview on Thursday, Biden campaign national press secretary Jamal Brown made an extremely ignorant comment when he claimed that because Twitter is censoring the bombshell report, it must be false.
“I also wanna ask you, Twitter has been under a little bit of fire for blocking tweets connected to the recent New York Post article about Hunter Biden’s connections in Ukraine and Joe Biden’s alleged involvement when he was vice president. What is your campaign’s response to this article and do you think Twitter is doing the right thing here?” asked a Cheddar host to Brown on Thursday morning.
“Twitter’s response to the actual article itself makes clear that these purported allegations are false and are not true,” Brown replied using his false and twisted logic.
“I’m glad to see social media companies like Twitter taking responsibility to limit misinformation,” he added, offering no evidence to discredit the New York Post’s bombshell report.
Sen. Josh Hawley mocked the Biden campaign for the bogus comment: “Wait – now [Joe Biden] is using [Twitter] as the factual authority on whether the [New York Post] story is accurate? Is this serious?”
“Incredible,” said conservative show host Ben Shapiro. “So the deal is that Twitter wrongly censors an anti-Biden story to protect Biden, and then the Biden campaign cites Twitter’s protection as evidence that the story is a nothingburger.”
Instead of fighting the allegations head on with evidence to disprove the story’s accuracy, the Biden campaign is attempting to come up with incredibly weak explanations for why the report is wrong.
The Biden campaign officially responded to the allegations on Wednesday, failing to rule out the possibility that Biden had interaction with a Burisma executive. They also failed to deny the validity of the emails found on Hunter Biden’s hard drive.
“Investigations by the press, during impeachment, and even by two Republican-led Senate committees whose work was decried as ‘not legitimate’ and political by a GOP colleague have all reached the same conclusion: that Joe Biden carried out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no wrongdoing. Trump Administration officials have attested to these facts under oath,” said Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates in a statement.
“The New York Post never asked the Biden campaign about the critical elements of this story,” Bates added. “They certainly never raised that Rudy Giuliani – whose discredited conspiracy theories and alliance with figures connected to Russian intelligence have been widely reported – claimed to have such materials.”
Bates continued: “Moreover, we have reviewed Joe Biden’s official schedules from the time and no meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place.”
