Avocados are being recalled due to a batch being positively tested for listeria in 6 states.
Henry Avocado, A California based company, issued a statement regarding their recall on Saturday.
“Henry Avocado is issuing this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution due to positive test results on environmental samples taken during a routine government inspection at its California packing facility,” Henry Avocado stated.
The Avocados that have been recalled have been shipped to North Carolina, Florida, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Arizona, and California. The company stated that all shipments from their facility have been recalled.
Listeria Monocytogenes affects individuals with weak immune systems and can cause potentially fatal infections. More common symptoms include headaches, stiffness, fever, and nausea.
