4 Murdered, 4 Wounded in Chicago this weekend


Chicago Weekend Stats are in, and there were four more homicides, and four wounded to add to the Liberal cities totals for the year.

As of Monday, at least 250 people have been shot this year compared with 390 this time last year. There have been 56 homicides, 14 more than this point last year.

This past weekend, eight people were shot, four fatally, between Friday night and early Monday. Two homicides occurred within 20 minutes Friday night , ending more than 24 hours without any shootings in the city.

Torric Harris, 40, was fatally shot in an apartment in the East Chatham neighborhood on the South Side about 10:30 p.m. Friday, police said

About 10:50 p.m., a man was shot in the head when someone fired shots at a house in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side. The man, who has not been identified, was standing in the living room when someone fired from the sidewalk.

On Saturday evening, Mauricio Rivera, 47, was fatally shot outside a Humboldt Park taqueria as his wife was ordering food inside.

On Sunday, Demond Larry, 20, was fatally shot inside a house in Englewood by someone he knew or who was known to someone else inside the house following a dispute, police said.
