Football fans tuning into this weekend’s games were in for a surprise as they saw Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, joining forces with Pfizer for a new ad campaign promoting the recently approved COVID-19 booster shot.
The ad, which Kelce shared on his Instagram page on Friday, made its way onto television screens during both Saturday’s college football and Sunday’s NFL matchups.
In the ad, Kelce proudly displays his two Super Bowl rings while delivering a message that resonates with viewers: you can efficiently address two health priorities by getting this season’s COVID-19 booster and your annual flu shot simultaneously.

Kelce emphasized the convenience factor in his Instagram post, saying, “With my schedule, saving time is key. The CDC says you can get this season’s updated COVID-19 shot when you get your flu shot if you’re due for both. That’s why I got two shots in one stop! Ask your doctor or pharmacist if it would be right for you.”
Pfizer’s COVID-19 booster vaccine received approval from both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) earlier this month, with a swift nationwide rollout. In contrast, flu shots have been available since mid-Summer.

However, amidst the push for vaccinations, some Americans have reported difficulties in obtaining the shots. Reports have emerged from various regions of patients struggling to secure appointments or arriving at scheduled appointments only to be turned away.
