During the Thursday night TNT halftime coverage of Houston Rockets vs the Los Angeles Lakers, Ernie Johnson asked the panel to analyze some of their early season predictions.

When Johnson stood in front of a board of early predictions on Post-It notes, he asked the panel which of the predictions had “no chance of happening.”

Rather than an answer related to the NBA, Barkley stated, “Two black guys beating a black guy up.”

Shaquille O’Neal could not hold back his laughter and for the next few minutes continued the entire panel failed to contain their nervous laughter.

“Just thinking out loud,” Barkley added.

“America,” he said. “Let me just tell you something. Do not commit crimes with checks. If you’re gonna break the law, do not write a check. Get cash, man […] You think they put that on the receipt? Facemask, rope, bleach?”

Barkley then went on to suggest the Empire actor could have found a much more cost-efficient way to stage the attack by visiting Liam Neeson’s neighborhood.

The Irish-born actor said earlier this month that he had the “primal urge” to attack random black people in the street after learning a close friend had been raped by a black man.

“You wasted all that damn time and money,” Barkley quipped You know what you should’ve did? Just went up to Liam Neeson’s neighborhood. It would’ve solved all your damn problems.”

Jussie Smollett has continued to deny all allegations against him, telling the Empire staff:

“I’m sorry I have put you all through this and not answered any calls. I wanted to say I’m sorry and, you know me, I would never do this to any of you, you are my family. I swear to God I did not do this.”

After posting $10,000 of the $100,000 bail (10%), Smollett returned to the Empire set to shoot more scenes. Smollett was ambushed by reporters while walking to a vehicle picking him up from court. Surrounded by bodyguards and holding onto the back of one bodyguard, he took the walk of shame.
