Early Sunday morning, TMZ released information on Anthony Weiner being in “pre-release status.” According to law enforcement sources that spoke with TMZ, Weiner has been transferred from a prison in Massachusetts into the custody of a residential re-entry center in New York. TMZ reported “he’s either in a halfway house or home confinement.”
Weiner was originally sentenced to 21 months in federal prison, reporting to prison November 6th, 2017. His prison term would have ended in August 2019, but because of good behavior, his release date has now been moved up to May 14, 2019, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.
You’ll remember in May 2017, Weiner pleaded guilty to transferring obscene material (a photo of his genitals) to a minor in federal court in Manhattan. The charges are from communication Weiner had with a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina (Sydney Leathers) on social media sites between January and March in 2016 using the alias “Carlos Danger.”
While serving at the Federal Medical Center in Devens, Massachusetts, Weiner reportedly received treatment as a sex offender.
During sentencing, Weiner stated, “This crime was my rock bottom. I have no excuse…I victimized a young person who deserved better.”
We’d still like to have a look at your laptop Mr. Weiner.
