We are immensely sad to hear the news of Frank Robinson’s passing. A legendary player, a trailblazer and a true Hall of Famer in every way, he will be deeply missed.

Orioles Hall of Famer Jim Palmer had this to say on Twitter.

“Frank Robinson’s résumé in our game is without parallel, a trailblazer in every sense, whose impact spanned generations,” Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement. “We are deeply saddened by this loss of our friend, colleague and legend, who worked in our game for more than 60 years.”

My dad was a big baseball fan growing up in the 50’s and 60’s. Robinson is one of the guys he always mentioned was so good, and one of the greats. This is a massive loss for baseball community. Robinson was also the first ever black manager of a MLB team. RIP Frank, you will forever be enshrined and missed in our lives.
