“Unplanned” is a film adaptation of the 2010 best-selling autobiographical book by Abby Johnson of the same name. In the book, we learn of Johnson’s own two abortions and are told the story of Johnson’s conversion from Texas Planned Parenthood as a clinic director to an advocate for pro-life after Johnson was needed in the assistance of the abortion of a 13-week-old fetus.
“When I was working at Planned Parenthood I was extremely pro-choice,” Johnson told FoxNews.com in November 2009. But after Johnson saw the internal workings of the procedure for the first time on an ultrasound monitor, “I would say there was a definite conversion in my heart … a spiritual conversion.”
” Seeing a child that young fight and struggle against the abortion instrument led me to re-evaluate what I believed and had been told was true. I realized there weren’t very many differences between me and this child in the womb. We both had the basic fight-or-flight human response. We were in different locations and we were different sizes, but our humanity was the same. That’s what caused me to ask: “What are we doing here?” We might think we are helping women, but we are doing it at the expense of innocent human life. “

On Thursday, the backers of the film, Pure Flix, released the two-and-a-half minute long trailer, and says the film will be released to 800 screens on March 29th.
“Unplanned” was written and directed by Chuck Konzelman and Cary Soloman, the writers and producers of both “God’s Not Dead” and “God’s Not Dead 2”, both distributed by Pure Flix, according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR).
Johnson is played by actress Ashley Bratcher who told Fox & Friends in December that she had been warned that if she agreed to sign on to the movie, she would more than likely be blacklisted for good.
The $6 million film “Unplanned” was financed in part by multi-millionaire My Pillow founder Michael Lindell. Lindell, worth an estimated $300 million is an outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump as well as a born again Christian. Lindell told THR he invested $1 million in the film and that he plans to invest in more films in the future that support his values.
Abby Johnson is now the CEO of the pro-life ministry “And Then There Were None,” which is described as “a registered nonprofit organization that exists to help abortion clinic workers leave the abortion industry. ATTWN is pro-life without exceptions. While we believe in and wholeheartedly support all peaceful prolife efforts, ATTWN seeks to end abortion from the inside out,” on the ATTWN website.
“I don’t know what the pro-life movement would do without ATTWN. This ministry is providing the means for abortion workers to safely transition out of the abortion industry and into a life of freedom with immense support and without fear of exploitation. Our sidewalk counselors have been able to confidently offer help to workers because of the multitude of resources available through ATTWN. This is a game-changer in the battle for life!,” writes Executive Director for Sidewalk Advocates for Life, Lauren Muzyka.
