CNN and Jim Acosta, the chief White House correspondent for the network, have filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump, chief of staff John Kelly, press secretary Sarah Sanders, and the United States Secret Service in regards to Acosta losing his press credentials.
CNN has also demanded that Acosta’s press credentials be returned.
A press release by CNN stated, “The wrongful revocation of these credentials violates CNN and Acosta’s First Amendment rights of freedom of the press, and their Fifth Amendment rights to due process.”
The lawsuit was filed in D.C. District Court and lawyers for CNN stated that “revocation of Acosta’s credentials is only the beginning” according to ABC News.
“This severe and unprecedented punishment is the culmination of years of hostility by President Trump against CNN and Acosta based on the contents of their reporting—an unabashed attempt to censor the press and exclude reporters from the White House who challenge and dispute the President’s point of view,” CNN’s lawyers wrote in the court documents.
The president “lacks the authority to quash” the First Amendment, the lawyers wrote, and access to the White House cannot be denied arbitrarily.”

By CNN standards then we all should be able to sue for not being given the privilege to be apart of the W.H. press corp.
It’s a privilege to be apart of the W.H. press corp, not a right! No one has taken Acostas press credentials in order to still write and report his idea of journalism. He has just been kicked to the curb from the W.H. press corp, which IMO should have been sooner then now.
If CNN has any merit then all Media outlets have the right to be apart of the W.H. press Corp.
Let’s gets America Media in there, or the Epoch Times, Laura Loomer, many more. CNN is crap mockingbird Media. And puppet Acosta is a joke in everywat
