Sydney Sutherland’s body, a 25-year old jogger from Newport, Arkansas was found Friday after being reported missing on Wednesday afternoon.
Jackson County police said her cell phone was found on Thursday not far from her home. It was reported that a ping response, aided by help from AT&T, was being given from her phone on the route she regularly jogged.
Police said the body of Sydney Sutherland was discovered in Newport on Friday, following a three-day search operation using K-9 units and helicopter crews and close to 200 volunteers on foot.
Quake Lewellyn, 28, a farmer from Jonesboro, was taken into custody on the suspicion of capital murder. Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas told reporters Friday afternoon that Lewellyn was familiar with Sutherland, though details of their connection were are not immediately clear.
Sutherland lived with her boyfriend and was a nurse at Harris Medical Center and well know and liked in the community. and was remembered as a friendly and outgoing person who put her family first.
