LOL! ROMNEY ONLY GOP SENATOR NOT ON TRUMP’S TASK FORCE

President Trump has formed a congressional group aimed at opening America amid the coronavirus outbreak.  He invited every Republican Senator, except Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah.  He also tapped more than 20 Democrats to serve on the task force, including some of the senators who voted to convict Trump.

Romney, the party’s 2012 presidential nominee and a longtime businessman, was the only GOP senator to vote to convict Trump in his impeachment trial earlier this year.  Romney voted to convict Trump on the abuse of power charge and to acquit on the obstruction of Congress charge.

Trump participated in phone calls with the group today and per a White House release they discussed the need for more funding for the Paycheck Protection Program, expanding access to COVID-19 testing and needed supplies, supply chains, the economy, surprise medical billing,  differences between essential and nonessential workers, mental health and small business relief.

He said, “I am pleased with all the positive feedback from the members about work the administration is doing to keep America healthy and prosperous and issue my thanks for your participation.”
