The NFL will reportedly play the “Black National Anthem” prior to opening week games and will consider allowing players to put names of victims of police brutality on their helmets or jersey, something that has raised the ire of former football great Burgess Owens who said, “there is no Black National Anthem.
In continuing with their new role as social justice warriors, the league will have the song “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing” either performed live or played on a recording before the actual National Anthem for game one as well as throughout the season.
“These moves are seen as part of the league’s collaborative work with its players to raise awareness of systemic racism and police brutality,” CBS Sports reports.
Because that’s the job of a Football league, not, you know, promoting and playing football games. I do not believe systemic racism is an issue in the United States.
In my opinion, if they do that, we should all take a knee during the Black National Anthem and leave the stadium or turn off the TV. We have a National anthem, and it’s for the entire nation. Why are they trying to bring back segregation?
