​ACTOR CHADWICK BOSEMAN ‘BLACK PANTHER’ STAR, VICTIM OF COLON CANCER TRAGICALLY PASSES AWAY

Chadwick Boseman’s family announced late Friday night of the tragic passing of the iconic black superstar.  The tweet is as follows:  “It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.”

Boseman died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side, according to his publicist Nicki Fioravante’s report to the Associated Press.  Boseman is survived by his wife and a parent and had no children.

Boseman was known for his acting roles playing Jackie Robinson in 2013’s “42” opposite Harrison Ford.  A year later he played James Brown in “Get On Up.”  His role in the Marvel film “Black Panther” was probably biggest film. 

He also appeared ascT’Challa in other Marvel films like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame,
Boseman continued to do more grounded work that navigated Black identity and history.

Most recently, he appeared as Thurgood Marshall in “Marshall” and co-starred in a pivotal role in Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods.
Our condolences to his family and regret the loss of a great actor and individual, who left the living way too soon.
